Welcome back to my blog! It blog post 13... are you excited to see what I learned/did today ? Intro to sound, sound in film is music, dialogue, sound effects, music !? Sound enhances film by setting the tone in each scene and giving the audience more information. When I watch films I hear songs from sound tracks (sometimes instrumentals), background effects (things falling, people). Sound supports the genre, characters, and setting of a film by setting the correct tone of how the movie is supposed to be, whether it's happy, sad, action. Sound creates audience engagement by allowing the audience to have an idea of what's going on moving forward in the film, and gives them space to respond emotionally to what's happening.
*REFLECTION*
In this exercise I was introduced to sound, I learned how it benefits in film and how it enhances a movie towards the audience. My teammate Richard S completed the first half and I did the second. We worked together by using the Internet (Google Search) and our minds to come up with examples for the second half. I'd say me and my team did well on this assignment.
